Skittles nail art?
Skittles Nail art? When I read this title in this week's Llama Technique Challenge, I repeated the question I'd made with the IKAT Nails: What's that? Can you eat those or what? And it turns out these were edible !
With a lot of help from Angie of OurPaintedWorld, I looked up some photo references and realized the general concept was to chose one design and represent it in each nail with a different color... or just do something Skittle-candy related. I just went with the most delicious option :3
I went to a store, escaped with my candy loot and used it's colors to make an explotion in my nails! The only problem I encountered was while trying to revive a Sally Hansen's Insta Dri that had at least 1/5 of the bottle left and had become pure honey. I thought I had dissolved it into an ultra liquid Impala top coat and some Nail Polish solvent, but when I painted my nails with it, all hell broke loose. If the pics above look kinda weird, it's because I tried to cut the losses and rescue some in Photoshop. From now on, I'll show you the actual result :(
Doesn't it sucks when a great top coat turns bad and ruins everything? I can't really complain of Sally Hansen's Insta Dri beyond this detail though. I haven't found anything here in Argentina that even compares to it! It dries almost instantly, lasts decades and leaves a nice glass finish. Sure, perfect. But remember emptying it in less than 4 months or THIS will be the result.
